Product Details

This is a fabulous vintage 70s mens suit jacket or blazer used by a CBC news reporter or anchorman.  The piece is made in a creamy orange color and has a newly designed CBC logo patch applied to the chest pocket.  The logo was designed in 1974 by Burton Kramer and is known as “the gem”.  It features a central “C”, which stands for Canada, exploding out in a kaleidoscopic effect in tones of red, orange and yellow against a blue background, reflecting the explosion of color that was undergoing on television (yes, color TV was a fairly new phenomenon).  It has notched lapels and does up with two buttons at the front.  There is a patch pocket at either side and a pocket at the left chest.  It is fully lined.  The necktie is not included.

Label: CA 00670 content label - the CA 00670 identification label was assigned to the Bluestone Shirt Co. of Toronto.  Bluestone, I believe, went out of business in September, 1980.

Material: 65% Wool / 35% Polyester

Sizing: No size is indicated, but it should fit a medium size, probably a size 38-40 - please rely on the following measurements for fit, either comparing them to another jacket that you may own or your body measurements, allowing at least 1” less for fit (3”-4” at the chest):

Shoulders: 18 1/2” across seam-to-seam

Sleeves: 26” long

Sleeve Inseam: 17 1/2” long

Chest: 42” around, taken under the arms

Waist: 30” around

Hips:  40”

Overall length: 32"

Condition:  It is in excellent condition with no wear, tear, staining or odors, looks like it saw little use and was well stored over the years.

This is a rare piece - I couldn’t find a similar example anywhere.  Great collectible blazer from The Anchorman era!
